Online 9D Breathwork at Home: Making Space to Pause Without Adding More to Your Day
Updated: Oct 2
We talk a lot about making time for ourselves.
But sometimes, making time for ourselves feels like another job.
You've finished work. There might be dinner to sort, children or family to think about, messages waiting, washing that needs doing and perhaps you've already spent much of the day looking after everybody else.
Then the thing that's supposed to help you feel less stressed requires you to get changed, get in the car, drive somewhere, find somewhere to park, spend a couple of hours away from home and drive back again.
When you're already tired, even something you know might be good for you can feel like one more demand on your energy.
It's one of the reasons I've decided to bring some of my 9D Breathwork sessions online.
Not because I believe online is better than in-person.
But because sometimes making support easier to access matters and some clients just can't make it to the groups.
When wellbeing takes energy too
One of the things I talk about at Bybrook Therapies is energy management.
We all have demands on us.
Work. Family. Relationships. Caring responsibilities. Poor sleep. Decisions. Worry. Financial pressures. Constant notifications. Other people's needs.
Individually, many of these things might be manageable.
But they accumulate.
I sometimes demonstrate this using a stress bucket. We keep adding things to the bucket, often without noticing how full it is becoming.
Then eventually something seemingly small happens and we wonder why we're suddenly overwhelmed, irritable, exhausted or unable to switch off.
At Bybrook, I'm interested in what happens before the bucket overflows.
What were the clues?
What did your body feel like?
What happened to your sleep?
What thoughts kept appearing?
Did you start withdrawing?
Did everything begin irritating you?
Did you keep saying yes when you really needed to say no?
Did you stop doing the things that normally helped?
I call this:
Don't wait for your body to shout.
We don't always need to wait until we're completely depleted before paying attention.
Sometimes we simply need enough quiet to notice.
Why experience 9D Breathwork from home?
For some people, attending an in-person session is exactly what they need.
There's something lovely about physically leaving everyday life behind, entering a different environment and allowing someone else to hold the space for a while.
I'll continue offering in-person experiences for exactly that reason.
But it isn't always practical.
Online 9D Breathwork offers another option.
You don't need to travel.
You don't need to find somewhere to park.
You don't need to give up an entire evening.
And when the session finishes, you don't have to get back into the car and drive home.
You're already there.
You can take off your headphones, have some water, make a cup of tea, write in your journal if you'd like to, or simply remain quiet for a while.
For people who already feel that life contains too much doing, removing some of the practical demands around attending a wellbeing session can make participation easier.
Your own space. Your own headphones.
The Bybrook Online Reset is a live online 9D Breathwork experience, not a recording that you are left to work through alone.
We meet online in a small group.
Before the breathwork begins, I'll introduce that evening's theme and share some simple, practical education to help you understand and notice what's happening in your everyday life.
One evening we might explore stress and the capacity vessel.
Another might look at energy, where yours is going and what happens when you're constantly giving more than you're restoring.
We might explore boundaries, sleep, overwhelm or some of the patterns we fall into without consciously choosing them.
Then we stop talking.
You get comfortable in your own space, put on your headphones and move into the immersive 9D Breathwork experience.
I remain present and facilitate the session live.
We finish gently, with a little time to notice how you feel and what, if anything, you want to take from the experience into the days ahead.
Learn → Notice → Experience → Integrate.
That's an important part of how I work at Bybrook.
What is 9D Breathwork?
9D Breathwork is an immersive form of guided breathwork experienced through headphones.
Depending on the particular journey, it can combine guided breathing, music, sound and spoken guidance to create an immersive experience.
But at Bybrook, I'm not interested in pushing everybody towards the most intense experience possible.
More isn't automatically better.
Different people arrive with different histories, different health considerations and different levels of capacity.
That's why participants complete health screening and consent information before taking part, and why I choose sessions carefully.
Safety before intensity. Capacity before pushing harder.
Can I really do breathwork online?
Yes, but I believe it should still feel facilitated well.
My online groups are deliberately small, with a maximum of 12 participants.
During the breathwork element, participants are positioned so that I can visually monitor them while facilitating the session.
You'll need a reliable internet connection, headphones, a quiet private space and somewhere comfortable to lie down.
I'll explain everything else beforehand.
You don't need previous breathwork or meditation experience.
And you don't have to share everything
Some people feel nervous about attending a wellbeing group because they imagine they'll be expected to tell strangers how they feel or discuss deeply personal things.
That's not what these sessions are about.
You can notice privately.
You can reflect privately.
You can be curious about what comes up without having to turn it into a story or explain it to everybody else.
Sometimes noticing is enough.
Creating choice rather than living on automatic
This is becoming increasingly central to everything I do at Bybrook Therapies.
We all develop patterns.
Ways of responding.
Stories we tell ourselves.
Things we've learned from family, relationships, work, school and the culture around us.
Some are useful.
Some may once have been useful but aren't anymore.
And some we repeat simply because we've never stopped long enough to notice them.
I don't believe every reaction is proof that something profound is happening underneath.
But reactions can give us information.
A tight jaw.
A racing mind.
Constantly checking your phone.
Feeling exhausted after spending time with somebody.
Automatically saying yes.
Feeling guilty when you say no.
Being unable to sit still.
Waking in the night thinking.
These can all be clues worth getting curious about.
Not judging.
Not immediately fixing.
Just noticing.
Because once we notice something, we may have an opportunity to choose what happens next.
Quiet the noise. Notice the clues. Get curious. Create choice.
That's much bigger than breathwork.
9D Breathwork is simply one of the tools I use to help create enough space for that process to begin.
Perhaps making time for yourself doesn't need to take all evening
As the evenings become darker, I wanted to create something that fits more easily into real life.
Not another commitment that takes three hours once travel and preparation are included.
Not something that requires you to rush home from work only to rush out again.
Just 75 minutes.
At home.
With your headphones on.
A little practical learning.
Time to notice.
An immersive experience.
And some space afterwards to simply be.

Different sessions will explore different themes, including stress, overwhelm, energy, rest and the patterns we don't always notice until our bodies start shouting.
If you've been thinking:
“I know I need some time for myself. I just don't have the time.”
Perhaps this is another way.
